Larry Allen, owner of AMI, will join Park Place Technologies as Chief Technology Officer

CLEVELAND, OH, August 2, 2017 – Park Place Technologies announced today it has acquired third-party maintenance pioneer Allen Myland Inc. (AMI), a Pennsylvania-based data storage maintenance firm.  As a part of the deal, AMI’s owner, Larry Allen will join Park Place Technologies as Chief Technology Officer. While the terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed, Park Place Technologies acquired the majority of AMI’s assets, including all IP developed and owned by AMI, enabling Park Place Technologies to streamline existing customer service and operations contracts between the two companies and build on Park Place Technologies’ best-in-class customer support.

“AMI has served as a valued partner to Park Place for many years, and I am thrilled to welcome the entire Allen Myland team to our company,” said Ed Kenty, Chairman and CEO of Park Place Technologies. “AMI’s proprietary tools, rich heritage and legacy knowledge of data storage maintenance are unparalleled. AMI’s outstanding and pioneering team of expert engineers will further expand our technological capabilities and service offerings for customers worldwide.”

Kenty also noted that under Larry Allen’s direction, AMI has led the way in developing best-in-class service offerings. “We are very fortunate to have Larry join our team as Chief Technology Officer and we will look to him to drive new product and service offerings for the company,” Kenty added.

Chris Adams, President and Chief Operating Officer said, “The gap between Park Place Technologies and its competition has significantly widened as a result of the AMI acquisition.  Park Place’s acquisition of Ardent in November 2016 was the company’s first ‘techquisition’, firmly positioning Park Place as the industry leader in post warranty storage maintenance.”

A pioneer in the third-party maintenance field, AMI has been providing SAN support on emerging data processing technologies since 1973. Headquartered outside of Philadelphia, the company provides data storage hardware support to Fortune 500 and local companies across the US, Canada and Europe. Their boutique storage offering will reinforce Park Place Technologies’ dominance in storage maintenance. Park Place Technologies’ customers will benefit from improved speed to market, first response times and the added support and expertise of AMI’s skilled workforce.

“AMI is excited to join Park Place Technologies, a clear industry leader in post warranty storage maintenance,” said Larry Allen, former owner of AMI and recently appointed CTO of Park Place Technologies. “Park Place Technologies’ significant presence in North America and across the globe will expand upon the service offering we’ve been providing our clients. As CTO, I look forward to working with Park Place Technologies’ exceptionally talented team to further enhance the customer experience and bring even more capabilities to our customers.”

Park Place Technologies is aggressively pursuing acquisitions in the US and worldwide to grow its position as a global leader in legacy enterprise storage, IT and hardware maintenance.  The acquisition of AMI marks the fifth acquisition in the past 12 months. Most recently, Park Place Technologies acquired the Asia assets of Performance Data, a global IT service provider headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia. Previously, Park Place Technologies acquired Ardent in November 2016, marking the company’s first “techquisition”. By acquiring AMI and Ardent, two industry leaders in enterprise storage support, Park Place Technologies can further improve its technical depth and expertise and solidify its position at the forefront of the industry.
