Park Place Gathers Resources To Serve Clients During Winter Storm Landon

February 01, 2022

CLEVELAND, OH, Feb. 1 — Park Place Technologies is proactively preparing to serve clients who may be impacted by Winter Storm Landon, which The Weather Channel is predicting will “spread a big mess” of snow, sleet and freezing rain from the Rockies to the Plains, Midwest and parts of the Northeast U.S., starting the evening of Feb. 1. A 2,000-mile-long “icy corridor” is predicted across the U.S.

The National Weather Service is describing the storm as “Dangerous.” Snowfall totals of 6 to 12 inches are expected over parts of the Southern Rockies and Central Plains to Midwest by Thursday morning. A corridor of heavy ice accumulation (exceeding a quarter of an inch) is likely from Texas through the Ohio Valley. Winter Storm Watches and Warnings are in effect for much of the areas to be affected by heavy snow and ice. Downed trees and power lines are expected.

Locations impacted by snow and/or ice are expected to have temperatures remain below freezing, and well below average, for at least a couple days after the wintry precipitation ends.

Park Place has set up a Command Center in Westborough, Mass., that is ready to deploy whatever resources clients need. Clients will have immediate access to our supply chain, tech support, field team and suppliers. Our entire field team is on “high alert” and will be ready to deploy in the areas most impacted.

Park Place has been reaching out to critical end-users such as hospitals to ensure they are ready to engage us if they are hit hard. Park Place has identified customers who could be impacted and has moved additional material into the potential impacted regions. Field Engineers are planning for the worst and hoping for the best.  We are also putting our complete Staff on high alert making sure they are ready to deploy.

Park Place has employed this proactive approach for such recent challenges as Winter Storm Harper, wildfires in California and Hurricanes Elsa, Grace and Henri. By preparing for potential weather-related interruptions of service, Park Place is proactively investing in data center up time to ensure peace of mind for our clients.
